At the end of January 2020, Velos Youth had the pleasure of participating in a second football tournament with three other organisations in Athens – ActionAid, Faros and Red Cross.

After going on weekly excursions to play football around Exarchia these past two, three months, the young people visiting our centre were ready to go enjoy a sunny day in the football field of Akadimia Platonos – we were so happy to be playing in a full-sized football field. We were impressed by the high numbers of participation. But most importantly, we were ecstatic the young people visiting us took the opportunity to meet new people and play a sport we all love in a fair and respectful way!

It is collaborations like these which strengthen the support organisations like Velos can provide to all young people. It’s safe to say that we are looking forward to the next match!
