Integration program for unaccompanied refugee minors, asylum seekers and young people on the move.
Velos Youth is proud to be part of the SafeSpaces project, an Erasmus initiative dedicated to creating safe environments for unaccompanied minors and youth, refugees and asylum seekers, not excluding those on the move, aged 15 to 25 years old. In collaboration with six international organisations, including a partner from Mexico, our goal is to address the critical needs of vulnerable youth on the move.
Through our activities, SafeSpaces addresses several key European Youth Goals, including fostering connections between the EU and its youth, promoting gender equality, building inclusive societies, facilitating constructive dialogue and access to information, supporting mental health and well-being, advocating for quality employment and learning opportunities, and ensuring space and participation for all young individuals.
Furthermore, the project will support the creation of such SafeSpaces in implementing countries. We expect the creation of at least 5 SafeSpaces, training at least 30 professionals to be employed on the ground, who will finally work for the integration of at least 100 unaccompanied children across 5 countries.
Our activities include:
Research Publication: We are mapping target groups and creating job profiles of the professionals, in order to better understand and address the target group needs.
Training Program: Developing a comprehensive curriculum covering legal guidance, psychological support, career counselling, and more to empower young refugees.
SafeSpaces: Creating a methodology for implementing integration programs in migrant centres, providing a supportive environment for young people.
International Network: Establishing a platform for knowledge exchange and cooperation among youth centres worldwide, promoting best practices in refugee integration.
Join us in our mission to provide a welcoming and empowering environment for young refugees to thrive and integrate into their new communities. Together, we can make a difference!
