On May 7–8, our CEO Mustafa Mohammad represented Velos Youth at The Parliament of the Invisibles, in Venice — an initiative launched by Art for Action during the opening days of the Venice Biennale, in collaboration with The Human Safety Net and EMERGENCY ONG.
As someone with lived experience of forced displacement — from Syria, through Turkey, and to Greece — Mustafa shared a powerful personal story of survival, grassroots action, and co-creating support structures like Velos Youth. He reminded the Assembly why those most affected by displacement must not only be heard — they must lead.
This Parliament is not symbolic. It’s a working Assembly, shaped by people with real-life experience: migrants and refugees, youth, artists, and human rights defenders. Together, they are designing a new kind of politics — one rooted in dignity, co-decision, and collective responsibility.
